Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has apologized to Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli after a spat with his Brazilian team-mate in the North London derby on Sunday.

Tottenham beat Arsenal 2-0 thanks to an own goal from Hugo Lloris and a goal from Martin Odegaard.

During the match, Richarlison was also involved in a verbal altercation with Martinelli in the second half. He accused the Arsenal striker of diving.

After the game, Richarlison spoke about his altercation with Martinelli to ESPN Brasil: “It was a foul that the referee ended up giving, we were close to the gesture, in my opinion it was not, I I said he was diving a lot, so I didn’t shake his hand.

“I apologize to him. Like it or not, he’s my teammate. It’s part of the game. It’s a derby, we were impetuous.

“With Gabriel [Magalhaes] we argued a bit because I wanted to continue the game.

He ended up taking a yellow and I said to him: “Let’s play, let’s play”. I told him they stop the game all the time. It’s part of the game.”
