Jesse Lingard sent message over Manchester United future by West Ham coach

Manchester United and Jesse Lingard didn’t part ways this summer and West Ham coach Stuart Pearce says he missed his chance to move on during the summer transfer window

Jesse Lingard is too good to be a bit-part player at Manchester United and missed his opportunity to leave the club this summer, according to West Ham coach Stuart Pearce.

Lingard was linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer after a highly successful loan deal with the Hammers last season saw him score nine goals in 16 games as he helped them to finish in the Europa League places.null

He was expected to re-join David Moyes’ side on a permanent deal, but with United ‘s asking price being deemed too high the deal never materialised and Lingard stayed as part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
