Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard has revealed why he’s been in the best shape of his life this season.
The Norwegian says his exceptional form for Arsenal this season is down to conversations with the club’s coaching staff.
The 24-year-old former Real Madrid midfielder has been handed the club’s captaincy by manager Mikel Arteta after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract was terminated.
The Norway international has been instrumental in the Gunners’ title race this season, scoring eight league goals and providing five assists in 17 appearances.
Odegaard credited his form to diligent talks with Arsenal coaches and hard work.
Speaking to Viaplay, the Gunners captain said: “It’s about the way we play, my role in the team, and my focus; I worked there a lot.”
“I worked a lot on it.” I talked a lot with the coaches to find out how to get into the right areas of the pitch. It’s a matter of mindset and more. It’s good that hard work pays off.
