Napoli achieved a climax in their long history on Wednesday by beating Rangers in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage. The Parma side hadn’t managed 12 successive wins for 36 years.
Napoli put themselves on track for top spot in Champions League Group A with an impressive 3- 0 triumph over Rangers at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Giovanni Simeone scored a brace and Leo Skiri Ostigard completed the scoring. With this result, the Italians will maintain top spot against Liverpool coming week.
As well as securing their place in the last 16 of the continental championship, the Neapolitans also broke and set a new record. The team led by Luciano Spalletti achieved their 12th successive win after eclipsing the Scots, a milestone they hadn’t reached for 36 years.
